With a hectic work load, nonstop rain, crazy travel schedules, and the never-ending feeling that beach and lake trips are so close yet so far, April was crazy for us. But we didn’t let all that craziness get in the way of our goals. In fact, knowing summer is right around the corner only kept us motivated! We swapped out dinner dates for movie dates, kept up with our workouts while traveling, and even incorporated a new approach to eating known as intermittent fasting (post to come!).
Here are a few things that helped us dominate the month of April:
1. Mind Pump Radio
I stumbled upon this podcast when I was searching out more information on intermittent fasting. What started as one episode turned into a full on podcast binge. These guys have tons of experience in the personal training world and make nutrition a topic than anyone can understand. Not to mention, they are pretty funny and always keep me entertained with their banter. Check them out
2. Black Bean Brownies
I made this recipe for the first time in April and had multiple requests from Jack to make them again. If I can fool a few grown men into thinking these are traditional brownies, then you know they are legit. Try them out for yourself if you don’t believe me!
3. Snapware Pyrex Food Storage
This month, I decided to ditch the countless mismatched plastic tupperware that was exploding out of my cabinets and splurge on a set of Pyrex glass food storage containers. Not only do I feel super fancy carrying these, but I love that they don’t stain and have secure-lock lids to prevent spilling. You can pick up a set like mine here.
4. Sprouts Farmers Market
In Atlanta, Sprouts Farmers Market is the new kid in town! When they started popping up around the city, I knew I had to pay a visit. And OMG, did I fall in love or what?! With a colorful fresh produce selection, prepared dishes ready to eat, and a huge bulk food section that offers everything from oats and rice to gummy bears and chocolate-covered…everything, I am a Sprouts girl for life. This place is a healthy-eater’s paradise with significantly more options than Trader Joe’s and a lot less dollar signs than Whole Foods! Find a Sprouts near you!
5. The Boys in the Boat
We love to read and this book left me feeling motivated as ever to kick butt in my workouts. If you like history, sports, and heartwarming stories of team camaraderie, this book is for you! Pick up a copy here.
